Official Master's Degree in EUROPHOTONICS - European Master in Photonics Engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics


Photonics is one of the scientific disciplines which will have great influence in science and technology in the 21st century. In short, photonics can be defined as a scientific and technological discipline that studies and applies the properties of light and its interaction with material.
Photonics plays an essential role in the discovery of new phenomena in nature and in the development of new technologies, and is of key importance in the generation of knowledge as well as in the market of innovative products.
Photonics engineering allows discoveries in photonic laboratories to be further developed with the aim of commercialising and converting them into a practical benefit for society. Nanophotonics interrelates the science of light with nanotechnology and aims to develop new devices with greater precision and better characteristics than those currently existing. Biophotonics is paving the way for new advances in the research of biological systems and biotechnology ranging from molecular scale to macroscopic objects such as organs.
