The course "Introduction to Classical Tibetan Language: Advanced Concepts" is designed for students who wish to deepen their learning of Classical Tibetan and its relationship with Tibetan Buddhism. This academic program offers a unique experience by combining advanced study of grammar, specialized vocabulary, and translation of classical texts with the analysis of fundamental philosophical and spiritual concepts of this tradition.
In this course, students will have access to high‑quality educational resources, such as specialized materials and a teaching approach that fosters both theoretical and practical learning. The UAB offers excellent academic and technological infrastructures, including virtual platforms that facilitate online learning and interaction between students and instructors. In addition, active participation in research and analytical activities is encouraged to enrich the educational experience.
The training provided in this course not only develops advanced linguistic competencies, but also equips students with the analytical tools needed to understand and work with more complex Tibetan texts. This makes it an ideal option for those seeking to specialize in Buddhist studies, translation of classical texts, or academic research on Tibet and its cultural heritage.

Career opportunities
Students who complete the training in classical Tibetan will be able to pursue teaching and academic research in Asian studies, as well as translation and interpretation of Buddhist texts. They will also have the opportunity to offer cultural consultancy to organizations related to Asia and collaborate with museums and archives in the management of Asian art and literature collections. Additionally, they may work in cultural management, promoting Tibetan culture through events and exhibitions.
