Research and dissemination: the hapaecc project
Professor and researcher Sonia Lorente, from the Department of Psychobiology and Methodology of Health Sciences at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), is collaborating on the program “Joint hypermobility and associated pathologies: studies in emotion, cognition and behaviour” (HAPAECC).
This project is led by professor and researcher Carolina Baeza-Velasco, from the Psychopathology and Health Processes Laboratory at the Université Paris Cité and boasts an outstanding track record in studying the psychosocial impact of hereditary connective tissue disorders, such as Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS).
The programme offers a broad perspective that helps to raise awareness of the daily lives of those living with this condition. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of a comprehensive clinical approach that combines medical attention with emotional well-being care.
