Ismael Nafría, a Journalist and Newsletter Expert, Delivers a Lecture and Practical Workshop in the UAB Master's Degree in Journalism and Innovation in Digital Content
Ismael Nafría delivered a lecture on newsletters to students of the Master's Degree in Journalism and Innovation in Digital Content at the Department of Journalism of the UAB. Nafría highlighted the usefulness and effectiveness of this format and also conducted a practical session for the students.
Ismael Nafría is the creator of the Tendenci@s newsletter and the author, among other works, of The Reinvention of The New York Times (2017).
Nafría divided the session into three parts. In the introduction, he provided a comprehensive overview of the different types of newsletters, highlighted the most important ones, and explained their significance for journalism and communication today. He also shared inspiring examples with the students. In the second part, he outlined the main aspects and characteristics that a newsletter should have in order to be successful. The session concluded with a practical workshop in which the students designed, developed, and presented their own newsletter proposals.
