The "Digital Business Thematic Seminar" Provides an Up-to-Date View of the Sector to Master's Students
The Digital Business Thematic Seminar of the Master’s Degree in Journalism and Innovation in Digital Content, held on 10 December 2025, offered an up-to-date perspective on the transformations of the media business through the contributions of two leading professionals from the sector.
The session opened with David Ramos, Head of Digital Strategy at La Vanguardia, who presented a detailed analysis of the newspaper’s digital strategy, its most recent initiatives, and the main challenges faced by a media outlet that leads digital audiences. His presentation helped students understand how strategies are designed and implemented within a major media organization.
This was followed by Ismael Nafría, consultant and author of the @Tendencias newsletter, who explored the central role of newsletters within subscription-based business models. With more than 10,000 subscribers, he outlined the key factors that have established this format as a core product in digital business and provided an international overview of its development.
The seminar was conducted in a dynamic and participatory format, including a dedicated Q&A session and an exchange of ideas with the speakers. This dialogue enriched the event and offered a practical perspective on current industry trends.
The activity helped to strengthen the master’s specialized training by providing up-to-date knowledge, professional insights, and a strategic view of the digital models that are transforming the media ecosystem.
