From literary representation to critical discourse and social practice, love has configured female identities in ways that sustain subaltern positions for women. Placing Love at the center of political economy, Gotby explores the connections between love, labor and social organization, drawing on and beyond the tradition of the Marxist feminist movement Wages for Housework. Calling on a radical reform of our capitalist structures, Gotby points at love and emotions as sites for major political transformation.
