Job Market 2023-24

We welcome applications from candidates specializing in any field of applied economics with a strong research background, ideally at post-doctoral level or beyond.

The selected candidate is expected to be able to teach both in the undergraduate and graduate programs, supervise students’ work at any level, develop independent research programmes achieving international recognition, actively participate in the Department’s seminar series and become a member of the national and international research networks the Department belongs to. Teaching could be either in Catalan, English or Spanish.

The main teaching areas of the Department are Principles of Economics, International Economics, Public Sector Economics, Econometrics, Economic Policy, Labour Economics, and Spanish Economy.

The offered contract is at the level of visiting professor for up to two years, but after the first one the candidate will be able to opt to a six-year ‘lector’ contract. After that, full tenure requires obtaining accreditation (to ‘agregat’ by AQU or ‘titular’ by ANECA). The current gross salary for a visiting professor is 36,321€/year, while that of a ‘lector’ is 37,204 €/year. The annual effective teaching time in both cases is (about) 180 hours per year, divided in two semesters.
