Master's Degree in Pediatric Allergies, Immunology and Pneumology

Introduction

The Master's Degree in Pediatric Allergies, Immunology and Pneumology is aimed at doctors specialising in pediatrics who wish to receive training in pediatric pneumo-allergology. Its objective is to provide these doctors with the necessary professional, academic and research skills, and with the tools for diagnosing and treating pneumological, allergic and immunological illnesses. It will fill what is currently an academic and professional gap in this country.

The Pediatric Allergies, Immunology and Pneumology Unit belongs to the Pediatric Medicine Service of Sabadell Hospital (Parc Taulí University Corporation). It has all the equipment, processes and circuits needed for teaching, along with experience in research and teaching.

Pediatric respiratory, allergic and immunological problems are frequent reasons for medical consultations. These three areas of knowledge overlap greatly. By including these three areas in pediatrics this master's degree offers a unique, modern insight into these pathologies, from both an academic and a healthcare perspective.

Objectives

Learn to carry out patient care, teaching and research tasks in the subject areas of pediatric pneumology, allergy and immunology.

On finishing the master's degree, students have a thorough training in physiology, etiology and pathophysiology and the capacity to perform diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of pediatric patients with these pathologies. This is currently the only master's degree in this country to offer such a broad vision of the child, pneumology, allergy and immunology, since other programmes present a partial, compartmentalised training that leaves out highly important features that are shared between pediatric pneumology, allergy and immunology.

Access requirements
