The Observatory for Equality at UAB calls for rejection of LGBTIphobia

Given the recent homophobic assaults in Berga and Sants (district of Barcelona) these last days, we want to express our absolute rejection of the LGBTIphobia that lives amongst us. We believe that the physical violence broadcasted by the media these days is the most visible expression of a sexist and heteronormativity society that will not allow us to live freely or sexuality and identity.
 
The public university is a key stakeholder in combating discrimination and inequalities that happen in our society and theregore we call upon the university community to express its rejection of such homophobic assaults by using the hashtag #EstimaComVulguisUAB (love the way you like) to tag your kissing pictures.
 
We would like to take this opportunity to remind the audience of the Protocol against sexual harassment and harassment on grounds of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which applies to the entire university community.
