16/01/2024

On February 12, 13, 14 and 16 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., the online Introduction to Programming course will be taught for the first time by Mikel Esnaola, associate professor at the Faculty of Economics and Company of the UAB. This will be distributed in four online sessions of 2 hours each. It has limited places and has a total cost of €40. The activity is an initiative of the job placement action plan of the Faculty of Economics and Business and a certificate of attendance at the course will be given.

In this course students will explore the basic operations for performing calculations and manipulating data with R. They will learn to implement conditionals to make dynamic decisions in their programs, and they will master the use of loops to repeat tasks efficiently. It will also cover the definition of functions to create reusable blocks of code to improve code organization and maintainability. Finally, data structures will be delved into, exploring how to manage and manipulate vectors, lists, arrays, and other essential ways of representing information in R. With these foundations, participants will be well equipped to tackle more complex programming challenges and apply their skills in the context of data analysis and data science. The course syllabus consists of:

- Basic operations
- Conditionals
- Loops
- Definition of functions
- Data structures

The registration deadline is from January 29 to February 8, 2024. Registration will be formalized by filling out the following electronic form https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=KUxRa5EjMUi3dITzXEW_AfH_-iR2g7VNjfze9MsRDK5UMjZQQzNPVEFTVTU2UUM5RzZEOURXR1dOWC4u&origin=QRCode
