Next Tuesday, February 20, at 12:30, in the «Sala d’Actes», there will be a conference by Professor José Ignacio Conde-Ruiz, professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and deputy director of FEDEA.

Professor Conde-Ruiz will present his work in which he empirically analyzes how the development of society, politics and the economy in recent decades affects the well-being and prosperity of the younger generations. Professor Conde-Ruiz also identifies the main problems that concern young people and proposes measures that, in his opinion, could contribute to fix this situation.

José Ignacio Conde-Ruiz holds a PhD in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the Complutense University of Madrid, and deputy director of the Foundation for Applied Economics Studies (FEDEA).
He is a member of the Economic Affairs Advisory Council and a member of the Economic and Social Council - CES as an expert in the Tercer Group.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, he was part of the Committee of Experts in charge of developing the Pension Sustainability Factor in 2013. He is President of the Forum of Experts of the Santalucia Institute. He has also worked in the Economic Office of the President of the Government as Director General of Economic Policy (2008-2010) and as an External Consultant for the World Bank. He has been a professor and researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the European University Institute in Florence, the Bocconi University in Milan and the Pompeu Fabra University.
His research areas are Political Economy, Public Economy (labour market and pension system) and Macroeconomics. His research has been published in academic journals such as European Economic Review, The Review of Economic Studies, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Theory, The Economic Journal and Review of Economic Dynamics.
