Course: Masculinities and youth: "what can we do the boys in front of sexiest violences?¿

Description:

The studio has as main goal involving men in the promotion of gender equality and prevention of sexist violences. It is focused on the critique analysis of masculinity and its negative consequences in relationships and gender inequality. Through reflections and dialogues, it looks for the frame of the course to be known as to question other masculine members of the university. The programme tackles issues as the few forms of masculinity, their consequences and how men can evolution and getting over resistances as to promote equality and preventing violence. It pinpoints the development of proposals to involve other masculine members of the university community in this process of change. 

Calendar: Second Semester of 2024. 18th and 25th April and 2th and 9th May. 

Time: from 3pm to 8 pm 

Place: to determinate (in-person) 

Price: free. 

Financed by the “Pacto de Estado contra la Violencia de Género”. 

Total hours: 50 hours (12 in-person and 38 hours as autonomous working) 

ECTS credits: 2 ECTS credits in academic acknowledgment activities (for degrees)
