Official Master's Degree in Research in Art and Design
Access
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.Admission requirements
Entrance requirements are as follows:University degree in History of Art, Fine Arts, Philosophy, Communication Sciences or Design, though other subjects like Humanities will be considered by the Master's Commitee on a case-by-case basis. In the latter case the candidate may be required to take bridging courses.
Knowledge of English at level B1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Motivation letter and curriculum vitae and, addressed to the Master's coordinating body.
Selection criteria
In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places, the allocation of places will be carried out according to the following priority criteria:
- Academic record (50%)
- Motivation letter (10%)
- Previous second degrees and/or professional experience, both related to the content of the master’s program (30%)
- Language proficiency (10%): Knowledge of English, French and/or Spanish starting from the level equivalent to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.

Depending on the candidate's previous educational background, the Master's Commitee may require bridging courses to be taken.
Candidates with degrees in History of Art, Fine Arts, Philosophy, Communication Sciences or Design will not be required to take bridging courses.
Candidates with degrees in other subjects may be required to take bridging courses. Bridging courses will be chosen on a case-by-case basis, up to a maximum of 12 credits, from the following subjects:
- Art, Design and Societies, 6 credits (code 105710)
- Analysis and Criticism of Design, 5 credits (code 108163)
- Design and Contemporary Art, 6 credits (code 200655)
- Seminar on Critical Studies, 3 credits (code 105752)
- Latest Trends in Design, 6 credits (code 200668)
