Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and Services


The growing importance of services is redesigning the world economy, and has also generated a new academic discipline: information technology and multimedia for services. This new discipline provides the technological knowledge required to fill the gap between the needs of service companies and companies in the technology sector.

The aim of the Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and Services is to produce experts in the design of information systems who can establish fluid communication between businesses and users, with the help of technology as a tool for managing business processes and for efficiently integrating different media (images, audio, video and animation). On completing the degree in Information Technology and Services, graduates are equipped to assess, design and deploy information systems for online businesses, always taking into account user experience and making the best possible use of the information generated in all commercial areas. The student will receive the training needed to conceive, assess, prepare and direct projects using the principles and methodologies pertaining to the fields of engineering, human resource management and economics.

The Tomàs Cerdà School of Computer Science has always been innovative in its teaching. Since 1994 it has been committed to fostering better communication with students through the figure of the academic tutor. This degree opts for a new model of learning, in which lecturers act as assistants, tutors and counsellors to the students, who thus take the leading role and shoulder responsibility for their future, working more actively to acquire knowledge and long-term learning strategies.

The foreign-language level attained in secondary school is considered sufficient.
This level must enable students to adapt to the system of gradually introducing subjects taught in English, culminating in the writing, presentation and defence of the Final Project in English.
