The UAB Solidarity Race, organised to raise funds for La Marató de TV3, reaches its 12th edition and needs volunteers to make the activity a success. This year the money raised will go towards research into sexual and reproductive health.

Once again, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in collaboration with the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, organises the UAB Solidarity Race in support of La Marató de TV3, which will take place next Sunday 17 December. There are different races in which you can participate: the 6km walk, the 6km run, the 11.6km run and the 480m reduced mobility race.

The theme chosen this year is sexual and reproductive health which, according to health professionals, encompasses the set of pathologies that most affect the population, in all aspects of life and throughout life. These diseases have a prevalence of 3 million people in Catalonia, and an estimated incidence of 210,905 new cases each year. More research is needed and La Marató will make it possible to make this much needed investment.

The Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) manages the volunteers who make the Solidarity Race possible. Around 80 people are needed to volunteer in organisational tasks.

What must I do as a volunteer?

Apart from participating in the 6km run or walk, you also have the opportunity to be part of the team of volunteers, who are responsible for the organisational and logistical tasks, such as distributing the numbers and T-shirts. For this reason, the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) invites all interested students, PAS or PDI to collaborate as volunteers.

To form part of the team of volunteers and help make this solidarity race a success, please sign up here.
