This year's GAD-UAB tournament was held with great success
The Argumentation and Debate Group Tournament was once again held with great success. The sixth edition of the BP UAB tournament organised by the GAD on 19, 20 and 21 April had more than 64 debaters from all over the Spanish-speaking world who travelled to our university to enjoy the largest BP debate tournament in Catalonia.

The Argumentation and Debate Group of our university organized this past weekend the 7th GAD-UAB Debate Tournament in BP format. The success in participation and academic level confirm it as the benchmark event of the Spanish-speaking circuit in our country and accredit the ability of the GAD and the University to be guests of one of the most successful tournaments in the entire State. More than 30 teams from all over the Spanish-speaking world traveled to our university to enjoy a competitive and multitudinous tournament that had the largest influx of judges on the circuit. Students from more than 13 universities chose the UAB-based tournament to make possible one of the most competitive bp debate events this year.
The academic teams, on the other hand, had a very high level, made up of national and world champions, people with extensive experience in their positions and even people from outside the State with a very wide history in debate, as is the case of the awarding member of the University of Oxford. The strong academic teams resulted in a tournament with a very high level of motions to be debated, as well as a clean, fluid and honest functioning of those tasks necessary for the decision of the confrontations.
On the other hand, the organizing team, made up of the members of the Board Elena Núñez Jaime, Andreu Garcia, Héctor Salgado, Xènia Porterias and José María Sáez made the tournament possible from the beginning of its preparation many months ago and have ensured a good coordination between the academic dimension and the logistical dimension that has undoubtedly contributed enormously to the success of the tournament.
The participants have ensured a very high competitive level that has allowed for a dynamic and interesting tournament. Among them, however, it is worth highlighting the BDS SK champion team from Pompeu Fabra University and the CEU MB novice champion team from CEU San Pablo in Madrid. Luis Felipe García of ADUB and Agustín Saya of BDS are also to be congratulated for being recognized as best speaker and best new speaker respectively. However, we must congratulate all the teams and all the institutions that participated in this tournament in one normal way or another and who made it possible.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the role of the representatives of our club in the competition, with the GAD-ADUB GB team reaching the novice final and the GAD-ADUB PM team, led by our member Judit Postigo, in the semi-final. We will also have Mado Sáez on the adjudication team, n'Horacio Lamela and Arnau Rufs on the equity team and Roc Grandia and Mazcuñán and Malak Benchafii on the tabulation team.
With this year's tournament concluded, we continue to work on the ordinary trainings, as well as the preparation of the summer courses with a public speaking theme that we will offer during the university recess period this year. We will also send representation to the last tournaments of the season and we will start warming up so that next year's tournament will be as successful or more successful than this year's.
