josep egozcue, la vida d'un universitari apassionat per la recerca
Author: Montserrat Ponsà Fontanals, biologist and pharmacist, is professor in Cellular Biology at the UAB. She has worked in reproduction research lines and especially in chromosomic evolution. Her thesis on chromosomic evolution of the primates group was conducted by Josep Egozcue, whom she began working with in the 1970s in teaching, research and other university activities.
Summary: This book, published as part of the Biographies Collection of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, documents the professional career of Josep Egozcue Cuixart (Puigcerdà, 1940-2006). He was the first university professor in Cellular Biology in Spain and one of the first to introduce cytogenetics into our country. Not only did he stand out for his intellectual greatness, but also for his human qualities.

Author: John Brockman is a literary agent and author specialized in scientific literature. He founded the Edge Foundation, an organization aimed to bring together people working at the edge of a broad range of scientific and technical fields. He is president of Edge web.
Summary: Compilation of articles written by today's most prestigious scientists (geographers, psychologists, physicists or philosophers) to discuss the theory of the birth of a "third culture", where the word "humanism" recovers the sense of global intellectuality and holistic conscience that it had in the past.
