In addition to specific sessions held on request, the UAB's Vocational Training and Development Unit offers the following courses taught by members of the CERec:

  • Code of Good Practice: The UAB has a Code of Good Practice in Research (CBPR) which presents a set of guidelines for action, recommendations and commitments on carrying out research activities, including the training and supervision of young researchers. This course presents the fundamental values that guide research at the UAB (freedom, honesty and responsibility) as well as good practices in each of the dimensions of research (projects, data management, research groups, publications, knowledge transfer actitities tot the society). This is a practical course that includes solving cases of interest.
  • The ethics of research in the UAB doctoral programs: included in the offer of the Vocational Training and Development Unit. In this training action, the UAB Code of Good Practice in Research, the European Regulation for the Protection of Personal Data will be presented and the actions that would be necessary to adequately consider these dimensions in doctoral research will be assessed. Destined to coordinate the doctoral programs of the UAB.
    • Targets:
      • Incorporate the recommendations of the Code of Good Practice in Research and the European Data Protection Regulation in the research carried out in the UAB doctoral programs.

      • Assess which actions are especially important in each of the programs.
      • Agree on a set of actions common to all doctoral programs

  • Good Research Practices and Research Integrity at the UAB: This is a self-learning course that will be available all the academic year round. The objective of this programme is to transmit to early career researchers their responsibilities as future scientists, including awareness of and ability to deal with issues concerning research integrity and research ethics in a wider sense while promoting responsible conduct of research. Early career researchers will have the opportunity to learn ethical principles and apply them to problems they will encounter during their professional activities as researchers.
