Minor in Gender studies: The Minor in Gender studies provides a cross-sectional approach on gender, and is open to all undergraduate students at UAB. It includes subjects on gender offered at different faculties and consists of 125 ECTS, from which the student has to take 30.
Two specialisations are available:

  • Social Sciences
  • Arts and Humanities

Master and postgraduate programmes

Official Master’s Degree in Women, Gender, and Citizenship Studies: is an interdisciplinary degree promoted by the Inter-university Institute for Women and Gender Studies (IIEDG). It offers specialised training in women and gender studies, focused in professionalisation and research. Students can enroll to either classroom-based or online learning (90 ECTS). There are two specializations (20 ECTS each):

  • Women, jobs, and public policies
  • Theory, critique, and culture

Master in gender and communication: The objective of this master is to offer a critical training on the determinants that affect gender identities in the contemporary world and communications.

Postgraduate programme in gender and equality: This postgraduate programme offers specialised training in gender and equality in the context of addressing social issues. The programme results of a partnership between the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Area of Equality and Citizenship, the Office for Equality Policies Promotion between women and men, the Institute for Political Training, and the Department of Political Sciences and Public Law of UAB.

Postgraduate programme in gender-based violence: This is specialised training on violence against women from social and legal approaches, organized by the Department of Political Sciences and Public Law and the project “Law and Society from a gender perspective” by the Consolidated Research Group Antígona.
