Philology

About the collection

The collections related to philology studies that are available in the UAB are mainly at the Humanities Library, housed in two buildings:

Periodical publications are found in the Journals Room, Building B (in front of the Auditorium).

On the second floor of the Humanities Library (Building L) you will find most of the materials in the philology section (all books have a topographic that begins with 8) but you must keep in mind that an important part is in the library repository (brochures, theses, books published before 1950). The material published in non-book format (CD-ROM, CD, DVD, etc.) can be consulted at the third floor of the Library.

On the third floor of the library you can find:

  • The Asian Section with all the books about Asia and also the books written in Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
  • The Reference area (REF3) with specialized dictionaries in different languages.
  • The language self-learning section.
In addition, the library has a considerable amount of special collections and personal funds, which we recommend as many of them have to do with philology and literature.

You can access the online digital collections through the search engine, either electronic books, electronic journals, databases ...

We recommend a series of general guides to help you find the materials in the library:
