Graduate Diploma in Management, Preservation and Dissemination of Photographic Records

Graduate Diploma in Management, Preservation and Dissemination of Photographic Records

The shared goals of the Graduate School of Archives and Records Management, the Centre for Image Research and Diffusion, the Archivists-Records Managers Association of Catalonia, and the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia have made it possible to offer this graduate course specialising in the fields of archive studies and photographic studies, which were both lacking anything as specific as what is being offered by the Graduate Diploma in Management, Preservation and Dissemination of Photographic Records.

This training, on the one hand, aims to respond to the need among many public and private organizations to properly organise and treat their photographic archives and collections.

It also aims to provide photography professionals with different strategies, knowledge and tools to be able to improve the management and commercialisation of their photographic production.

The course considers the various aspects that should enable proper management of such photographic archives. It is therefore structured into different modules, the content of which covers the different aspects involved in their management, and meets the needs of different professional sectors.

Despite the increasing impotence of photographic records, the technological changes that affect them, and the diversity of associated professional sectors, no specialised courses are currently being offered in any of these areas to provide training focused both on knowledge of photographic production, and on its treatment, preservation and management.

The course is run in collaboration with professionals of recognized prestige in the included fields.
