Juan Uriagereka is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Maryland. A close associate of Noam Chomsky, he has published articles in the most prestigious journals in the field and books with international publishers like MIT Press, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Blackwell and Routledge. Among his many awards are the Premio Nacional de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales of the Basque Government (2001) and the Premio de Novela Corta José María de Pereda (2001).

Antoni Reguant Collection of the Library of Science and Technology - Summary
Interview with Antoni Reguant, entrepreneur from the Vallès region, who has donated to UAB his collection of books, totalling about 2,500 volumes. Most of them are math books, the rest being books on physics, chemistry and applied sciences in engineering. Among the works donated are books from the 19th century, almost all of the high school textbooks published in Spain from 1938 to the 1970’s, as well as some first editions of a great bibliographic value. In the video he explains his passion for mathematics and for collecting.

TV3: Desenvolupen una depuradora urbana capaç de generar energia
Investigadors del Departament d’Enginyeria Química, Biològica i Ambiental de la UAB, encapçalats pels professors Julián Carrera, Maria Eugenia Suárez-Ojeda i Julio Pérez, coordinaran el projecte europeu LIFE-SAVING-E per tal de comprovar que és possible depurar les aigües residuals urbanes tot generant energia.
