José Tomás Ibarra (MSc. Wildlife Management, MSc. Environmental Anthropology, PhD. Ecology, 2015, University of British Columbia, Canada). He is a lecturer and researcher on human ecology and social-ecological systems at ECOS (Ecosystem-Complexity-Society) Co-Laboratory, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is principal investigator at the Center for Local Development (CEDEL), the Center for Intercultural and Indigenous Research (CIIR), and the Center of Applied Ecology and Sustainability (CAPES). He has co-designed and implemented transdisciplinary approaches to understand and strengthen social-ecological resilience in Latin America, especially the southern Andes of Chile, since 2008.
