How to increase archive profitability, manage relations with donors, depositaries, and users, and negotiate uses and image licensing are some of the topics covered in this module.

Objectives:
- Understand the legal framework surrounding the production, handling, and preservation of audiovisual documents, including copyright and intellectual property.
- Identify the different types of rights associated with audiovisual works, such as public domain, orphan works, and the concept of fair use.
- Understand how copyright collecting societies operate and their role in the audiovisual sector.
- Identify emerging professional roles in audiovisual document management in the digital age and the skills required.
- Analyze strategies to increase the profitability of audiovisual archives and manage relationships with donors, depositaries, and users.

1. Legal Framework for Audiovisual Production.
- Introduction to copyright and its importance in audiovisual production.
- Analysis of legislation on intellectual property and cultural heritage protection.
- Study of image rights and privacy in audiovisual works.
- Understanding public domain, orphan works, and fair use.

2. Copyright Collecting Societies.
- Overview of key collecting societies in Spain (SGAE, VEGAP, DAMA, etc.).
- Understanding the services they offer and their relevance to rights management.

- Case studies on rights negotiation and copyright management in the audiovisual sector.

3. New Professional Roles in Audiovisual Document Management.
- Study of how the digital revolution is transforming archival and documentation professions.
- Training in the necessary skills for roles such as Researcher, Archival Producer, image verifier, and social media manager.
