Do you struggle to cope with situations arising in your practice and want to learn more in order to provide suitable care?
Do you feel you could do more for your patients but don't know how?
We will train you to accompany patient and family with compassion in the process of dying: physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
This master's degree is addressed to doctors, nurses and others wishing to give spiritual care.
In the common part, students go on a path of self-discovery, identify qualities of their own that can help them to care for their patients and acquire resources for handling difficult situations. In specialisation tracks for each profession, technical and practical content is provided. Teaching is carried out by recognised experts in their disciplines.
There are three-week placements, with professionals at the Palliative Care Unit of Hospital de Sant Pau: a reference point in this field.
This experience will change your outlook and maybe even your life itself!
Career opportunitiesThe master's degree is aimed primarily at healthcare professionals wishing to join hospital or non-hospital palliative care teams.
It is also suitable for specialists in other areas who have frequent contact with terminal patients, such as medical oncology, radiotherapy and oncology, internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatrics, for other professionals working in this field, such as psychologists, social workers or chaplains, and for other graduates involved in end-of-life care.
A holistic approach that provides tools for caring for a person who is suffering in all senses. An education in science, emotion and humanity.
The work placement is supervised and takes place at the Palliative Care Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
