Contents

- General bases (conceptual bases and neurobiological bases for behaviour). General introductory module that includes a historical and conceptual introduction to neuropsychology and behavioural neurology, general concepts of the relationships between the brain, behaviour, emotional states and social behaviours, good clinical and research practice, and the general tools of evidence-based work: statistics, preparation of articles, etc.

- General neuropsychology unit (evaluation of mental state, neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric exploration). Clinical module focusing initially on problems deriving from the epidemiological situation. Subsequently, the neuropsychometric foundations and the stages of cognitive evaluation are presented. Finally, the instruments are presented, grouped into detection, general instruments and specific instruments (neuropsychological exploration workshops).

- Study unit on general neuropsychological semiology. Clinical examination techniques, normality, semiology and neuropsychological pathology.

- General neurology unit (basic neurology). This constitutes the neurological aspect of neuropsychological disorders.

- General unit on neuroimaging, neurophysiology and neuropathology. This includes the following areas: neuroanatomy and neurochemistry, neurological pathology, microscopic and macroscopic neuropathology, and complementary techniques in neuropsychology and neurology of behaviour (neurophysiological and neuroimaging techniques).

- Study unit on cerebral syndromes based on their topography. In this area neuropsychological pathology is presented in accordance with the so-called brain topography syndromes. The syndromes are studied according to the cerebral lobes.

- Study unit on other clinical-pathological entities. These constitute the neuropsychological aspect of the clinical-pathological entities, such as: vascular disorders, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, dementias, toxic-metabolic encephalopathies, hydrocephalus, infections of the central nervous system, AIDS, etc.

- Study unit on the functions of language. Includes the study of the cognitive functions and their disorders: oral language, reading, writing.

- Study unit on cognitive functions (neuropsychological and neurobehavioural syndromes).
This constitutes the traditional unit on on neuropsychology and behavioural neurology: recognition, use of gestures, body schema, executive functions and memory.

- Unit on child and developmental neuropsychology. Study of the development of the superior nerve functions and child neuropsychology (syndromes, diagnosis and rehabilitation).

- Unit on rehabilitation and handling of the patient. Block on rehabilitation from disorders of the cognitive functions grouped by functions (aphasia, agnosia, executive function, attention, etc.) and workshops on cognitive intervention.

- Block on medicine and the law. General introduction to the medicine and forensic neuropsychology of cognitive and behavioural disorders.

- Master's Dissertation. Students must write a final dissertation to complete their training. Dissertations may vary in type and subject matter (history, systematic review, series of clinical cases, pilot standardisations) but activities of a clinical nature are favoured.
