Pediatric dermatology is considered in many countries to be a sub-specialty of dermatology, as it has sufficient specificity, but in Spain, training in this area is not possible in many adult dermatology services.

In response to demand from dermatology professionals for specialists in this area who can rotate through hospital dermatology services and broaden their knowledge, the master's degree in Advanced Pediatric Dermatology has been created, giving access to one student per edition.

On the initiative of the Dermatology Service of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona, it is taught in collaboration with the Institut Universitari Dexeus.

Career opportunities

On completing this master's degree, dermatologists can set up a pediatric dermatology consultancy.

UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace...

These internships may be curricular (compulsory) or non-curricular (optional).
