Online specialist course on wellness to prepare specialists in delivering lifestyle improvement programmes to the general public, focusing on health.
In this course you will learn in detail about sleep: its functions, characteristics, disorders and regulation, and how it is evaluated. You will deal with how to define, monitor and evaluate a Healthy Sleep Programme based on a set of criteria relating to the characteristics and possible disorders of sleep.
As you explore both theory and practice, you will be supported by specialist teaching staff from the Laboratory of Sport Psychology, attached to the consolidated research group Lifestyle, Sport and Health and to the UAB Institute of Sport Research.
You can enrol at any time during the academic year. You can have the course recognised as a module of the graduate diploma of the same name (Wellness) and take the other modules to complete this graduate diploma.
ContentsOn this course, students will learn to apply specialist knowledge of: the basic elements that define our sleep; differential aspects of sleep in the different stages of life; the repairing characteristics of healthy sleep habits; the instruments by which sleep behaviour has a positive impact on health; the design of an individualised intervention programme to instil healthy sleeping habits.
