This specialisation course aims to present the basic principles of digital accessibility and includes accessibility both to websites and digital documentation, social media and other user interfaces.
The course has a practical approach where students learn to evaluate web accessibility using different tools. They also learn to create accessible documents and evaluate accessibility to digital documents in different formats (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, EPUB, etc.). The course covers accessibility to social media content and accessibility to different interfaces (such as mobile phone content).
The course is divided into six units which are taught over 12 weeks. During the first week of each unit there is access to online teaching materials and a question and answer session. The second week focuses on tasks and interaction in a written forum.
This course is aimed at a wide range of profiles, from creators of digital content to translators, journalists, teachers, editors and language consultants, but also to developers and technicians who want to complete their training.
Students are recommended to have taken the course in Accessibility Management and Promotion or have prior knowledge of accessibility but this is not essential.
