This course is unique in Spain: offered only at the UAB. The UAB has an agreement in place with the CETR research team, which has been investigating this topic for over 15 years.
Are you interested in learning how to manage teams effectively within our knowledge society and a constantly-changing environment? This course shows the importance of motivation and social cohesion systems for both individuals and groups. These systems no longer evolve naturally – they now have to be built. You will discover how to create motivations that stimulate teamwork. The course offers individuals and social agents criteria and basic tools to do this building towards better self-management and management of constantly changing groups and societies.
The teaching staff is made up of UAB lecturers and researchers with the multidisciplinary CETR team.
The teaching programme strikes a balance between the theoretical framework and practical exercises to show its social effectiveness.
The main career options opened up are in human resources, education, social work, cultural activation, diversity management and team leadership and coordination.

ContentsTopic 1. Crisis of collective motivation and cohesion. The urgent need for systems of cohesion and motivation in creative teams.
Topic 2. Analysis of past societies' collective projects and value systems.
Topic 3. Projects from the past versus new projects: rigidity and hierarchy versus horizontality and free involvement.
Topic 4. Accepting the knowledge society: an inevitable fate. Risks introduced by accelerating technosciences.
Topic 5. Changes in the way of thinking, feeling and acting introduced by the technosciences: a new perspective on the individual, on the organisation, and on knowledge.
Topic 6. The peculiarity of humans' access to reality: the quality of humanity as a basis for teams' creativity, freedom, cohesion and motivation.
Topic 7. Tools for building narratives towards collective cohesion and motivation: the seven construction protocols.
Topic 8. Case study, protocol 1: Analysis of a specific group's set of real values.
Topic 9. Case study, protocol 2: Assumptions typical of creative societies applied to specific groups.
