Each course, a commission made up of three doctors, evaluates the progress of the research plan of the doctoral student, the development of their document of activities and the plan planned for the following course.

The evaluation of the course will be done by evaluating an annual follow-up report, which will also incorporate the data regarding the meetings established in the corresponding course. This report will have to be completed by the doctoral student once they have agreed with their directors and their tutor on the content. The doctoral student will access an online platform for monitoring, through the link https://gestiodoctoratmedicina.uab.cat/, entering their NIU and password.

The first or second follow-up doctoral students who have completed the compulsory training activities, will have to do so in the annual follow-up report, following the indications of the application. The platform will have to attach the model of the Certificate of completion of compulsory training activities without qualification, filled in and signed by all directors. You can download this model from the same application and it will serve to accredit the mandatory activities.

The compulsory training activities of our doctoral program are defined in two large blocks:

- Participation in internal seminars of the research group of hospitals (or of another health institution) [Your code in the 'Activity Documents' section of the file at sia.uab.es is:' 9 - Participation in internal seminars Research group / department - Variable description '].

- Participation in hospital sessions (or other health institutions) [Your code in the section ‘Activity Documents’ of the file at sia.uab.es is: ’16 - Hospital sessions - Variable description’].

The content of these activities is defined by point 2 of the annex of the commitment document that you signed both the doctoral student and the director (s) and presented at the time of your admission.

The directors may ask the doctoral student to deliver the documentation that they deem appropriate to ensure that the doctoral student has participated in the activities that they will certify.

It is mandatory that doctoral students also justify and record the training activities in their computer file, through the intranet. Subsequently, their directors will have to validate them. See the instructions here.

Extension requests can be processed from the same platform. With regard to extraordinary extensions, it will be necessary to attach a report from the director / s and tutor of the thesis. This model can be downloaded from the same application.

Once all the information has been filled in and the documents attached, if necessary, the doctoral student will have to press the "send follow-up" button and an automatic message will be sent to the directors and tutor for them to review and agree to them. The directors and tutor will also have to access the online platform through the link https://gestiodoctoratmedicina.uab.cat/, through their NIU and the password.

In the event that the directors or tutor do not give their agreement, the doctoral student will receive an email of disagreement with an explanation of the reasons so that she can modify the incorrect information, record and send it again. Finally, a new automatic message will be generated again to the directors and tutor so that they can review it and give their favourable or unfavourable assessment.

Only in the event that there is an unfavourable assessment, the monitoring committee will summon the doctoral student to make an oral presentation.

In accordance with current doctoral regulations, a positive evaluation of the follow-up is an essential requirement to be able to continue in the doctoral program and enrol in the following academic year. The fact of not filling in the follow-up data or not showing up, if this has finally been the case, the follow-up without justification entails the definitive withdrawal of the doctoral student from the program. If the evaluation of the annual follow-up is negative, the doctoral student has to re-enrol in the same follow-up not passed within the enrolment calendar, make a new research plan and submit to an evaluation of this follow-up within a maximum term of six months. However, if the new evaluation is negative, the doctoral student will permanently withdraw from the doctoral program.

The maximum date to manage the monitoring report for the 2022-2023 academic year, including the validation of the directors and the tutor, will be September 8.
