Pre-registration, admission and 1st course enrolment


Before starting your pre-registration, you should carefully review the information regarding access requirements, thesis direction, tutoring of the thesis, training activities, dedication time and pre-registration, admission and enrolment of 1st academic year.On-line pre-registration

This PhD programme has, for the 2024-2025 academic year, the following pre-registration periods:

  • From April, 15 to May, 3
    • RESOLUTION maximum by the School of Doctorate: June, 25
  • From September, 20 to October, 4
    • RESOLUTION maximum by the School of Doctorate: December, 20

Candidates who have already begun their pre-enrolment and their state of disenfranchised must modify their pre-enrolment. As a result of the computer attack on the UAB on 11 October, 2021, a two-factor authentication has been implemented to access the UAB email and applications. Therefore, in order to modify his pre-enrollment, the candidate will have to change the word of passage associated with his NEST. The instructions are all published on the UAB website: https://oim.uab.es/opwd/niu?lang=en

Important: If you, all your directors and your tutor have a digital certificate to sign documents, we recommend that all of you sign the documents to upload to online pre-registration with your digital certificate. If the digital certificates used valid, you will not have to provide the documents with the original signatures later. We inform you that we consider valid the digital Certificate of the Medical Association.Make sure you track the status of your request. If the status of the application is incomplete, you will receive a message from the application on the pre-registration with the incidents that you will have to solve at the latest 10 working days after having recorded your request.In case you can not make the corrections, because the pre-registration program does not let you do it, send us an e-mail to doctorat.medicina@uab.cat.In case you do not make the corrections, the application will be denied.

AdmissionThe Doctoral School will send you an e-mail of resolution of admission where they will communicate you that you can already make your enrolment.

Once you have the resolution of admission, you will have to deliver to the Doctoral School the indispensable documentation by postal post in order to enrol. You can consult this formality here.

Steps to follow after admission

At the time limit of three months from the admission at the program of doctorate, you will have to hand over at the Department of Medicine the following original documents inside a sealed envelope:

1. Admission Letter

2. Research plan

3. Commitment document

4. Annex to the commitment document

5. Annex to the Code of Good Practice

6. External UAB supervisors registering sheet template

You have to deliver this documents at the Department of Medicine, situated at the enclosure of the Hospital Universitari de Vall d'Hebron, by internal mail from the teaching units of the university hospitals UAB, postal post (certified), courier service or in person at the department, if it is opened, or to the academic secretary of the teaching unit of Vall d'Hebron.

Because of the exceptional situation caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, which means that attendance at the Department of Medicine or at the teaching unit of Vall d'Hebron is not guaranteed, before submitting or sending the documentation, confirm the opening time.

In the event that these original documents are not delivered for causes subject to the exceptional situation caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, the delivery of the documentation will be postponed until the situation is normalized.

Final admission is conditioned on reception, verification and validation of all original documentation submitted. In the event that these original documents are not delivered in time for causes attributable to the doctoral student, a non-economic default will be activated that will not allow the PhD student to pass the annual review or have continuity in the doctoral program.

 

EnrolmentThe data you will need to perform the self-enrolment will be the same as for the pre-registration, your NIU and password.
