Description of the thesis
The use of a range of essential oils as feed additives in dairy cow,to enhance animal production efficiency by increaseing propionate and decreasing acetate and butyrate
The process is as follow :
- In vitro Tilley Terry batch fermentation to identify essential oils that improve propionate and decrease acetate and butyrate
- In vitro fermenters to define optimal doses
- In vivo experiment to determine their effect on the rumen and post rumen.
