Wormwood Review
Description of the collection:
The Wormwood Review is one of the clearest examples of the literary boom of the 1960s in the United States. Edited by Marvin Malone, throughout a hundred and fifty issues it was the showcase of the best literature of the time. Among its pages there are examples of the poetic work of distinguished authors such as James Wright, Stephen Stepanchev, E. E. Cummings or Edward Field, and other great poets such as George Bowerin, Kay Ryan, James Dickey, Billy Collins and Donald Hall. Counterculture and nonconformist writers like Paul Blackburn, William Burroughs, Gregory Corso, Walter Lowenfels, Charles Bukowski, Anne Waldman or Ed Sanders also collaborated in the magazine.
The Wormwood Review is a clear example of how a little literary magazine can publish regularly for almost four decades. The digitization and preservation of the Wormwood Review in the DDD provide access to a unique literary activity for researchers, professors and students. This project was possible thanks to a grant from the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) and the 7th Framework Programme.
