Instituto Camões collection / José Saramago Chair
Description of the collection:
The José Saramago Chair, based at the UAB, was created through the agreement signed between the Camões Institute and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2007 as a result of the work carried out by the Centro de Língua Portuguesa / Instituto Camões de Barcelona from the UAB.
The José Saramago Chair has a cataloged and updated collection of books with nearly two hundred works by the Portuguese Nobel Prize. Initially, this collection was located at the Instituto Camões de Barcelona in the UAB and in 2014 an agreement was signed for the transfer of the collection to the Humanities Library. These are original editions and translations which cover the different thematic universes addressed by the author.
