GREIP (Research Centre for Teaching & Plurilingual Interaction), recognized as a consolidated research team by the Catalan Agency of Universities since 2005 (2017 SGR 774) and currently led by Melinda Dooly of the Unit of Language and Literature Teaching at UAB, is a member of a new European Erasmus + KA2 project entitled “Digitizing Pedagogical Task Design for Interactional Competence” (DIGITASK4IC).

The project, led by Ufuk Balaman (Hacettepe University) aims to create a platform (DIGITASK) with a series of products (a digital generator of teaching tasks, an international catalog of tasks, an open access library of educational resources and a mobile app), to bring teacher educators and pre-service foreign language teachers closer to task-based language teaching and the effective development of didactic tasks that foster interactive competence in L2.

Following the launch of DIGITASK, the platform will be enhanced with methodological packages for teaching foreign languages ​​(Turkish, German, French, Spanish, English) based on task sequences using DIGITASK. The end result of the project will be the Digital Training Module, a self-learning tool to be used by participants. In the long term, we hope that DIGITASK will play a central role in teacher training, and that it will also be used in schools, mainly through the transformation of trainee teachers into active teachers, and through online resources, including the Digital Training Module.
