Thomas Sturm, ICREA research professor at UAB, has been elected member of the Academia Europaea

Sturm’s work centers on Kant’s philosophy, rationality, and the relations between philosophy and history of science. Before becoming ICREA Professor in 2014, he has held positions at Marburg University, the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (BBAW), and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin). Sturm is also member of the UB's LOGOS Group in Analytic Philosophy, the UAB’s Center for the History of Science (CEHIC), and Affiliated Researcher at the Wilhelm Wundt Center for Philosophy & History of Psychology, Universidade Federal Juiz de Fora (Brazil).

The Academia Europaea, founded in 1988, with its headquarters in London, is a European Academy of Humanities, Letters and Sciences with more than 5,000 members, amongst them seventy-two Nobel Laureates. It promotes a wider appreciation of the value of European scholarship and research, makes recommendations to national governments and international agencies concerning matters affecting science, scholarship and academic life and furthers interdisciplinary and international research, particularly in relation to European issues.
