CIRCULAR BIOECONOMY - FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS OF BIOTECHNOLOGIES IN ENVIRONMENTAL BIOENGINEERING
A unique block of learning introduces first of all the need to pass from linear economy to circular economy, meaning: from the linear economy, which is a 'take, make, dispose' model of production, the development of an innovative new economic model, the circular economy, which is a regenerative system in which resource input andwaste emission,and energy leakage are minimized by slowing, closing, and narrowing energy and material loops; this can be achieved through long lasting design, maintenance repair, reuse, remanufacturing, refurbishing, recycling and upcycling.
The presentation is aimed at bioeconomy, which covers all sectors and systems that rely on biological resources (animals, plants, micro-organisms and derived biomass, including organic waste), their functions and principles and the passing towards CB (Circular Bioeconomy). the cross sector of bio-based industries, markets, products and processes to maximise the EU’s circular economy potential.
