Opening position: Lecturer
The Department of Applied Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona invites applications for a full-time lecturer position, involving both research and teaching, starting in Fall 2020. The Department is located in the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It offers an interesting and qualified research environment, inside the Barcelona academic pole, favoring the academic interaction with all the other institutions of the area.
Prospective candidates should hold a PhD degree (or close to its completion) and a research agenda that fits with the research interests of the Department. Each candidate must be able to demonstrate strong research abilities and commitment to teaching.
We are especially but not exclusively interested in applications from candidates whose research topics fall in the areas of econometrics and/or international economics but we welcome applications in other fields of applied economics like industrial organization, economics of development, ecological economics, inequality and social issues, international economics, labor economics, political economy, public economics, transport economics or regional and urban economics.
The successful applicant will be expected to lecture in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervise postgraduate research, develop independent research programs achieving international recognition, participate in the department’s seminar series as well as be an active member inside the national and international research networks the Department belongs to.
Candidates must take into account that most undergraduate teaching is in Spanish or Catalan. Communication skills in one of these languages is an asset and will be positively evaluated.
