860 students to take September university entrance exams on campus

On 21, 22 and 25 September the UAB will host the extraordinary university entrance exams (PAU), held each year in September. A total of 860 students will fill several lecture rooms at the faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Political Science and Sociology, Communication Studies Medicine, Education and the UAB General Newspaper Archive.

On 21, 22 and 25 September the UAB campus will play host to the extraordinary edition of the university entrance exams (PAU) which take place every year in the month of September. Some 860 students will take the exams in different lecture rooms found on campus at the faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Political Science and Sociology, Medicine, Education and the General Newspaper Archive.

The exams will take place two weeks later than normal, and no exams will be held on 23 or 24 September due to the celebration of the local holidays of Santa Tecla and la Mercè.

A total of 4,240 students have signed up to take the exams throughout Catalonia. Of the 37 exam points distributed throughout Catalonia's universities, the UAB has set up six.

On the first day, Monday 21 September, the exam for Spanish Language and Literature will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30a.m. From 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., the exams for Land Sciences and the Environment, Fundaments of Art, Greek and Mathematic Applied to Social Sciences will be held. And later in the afternoon, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., students will be evaluated in Musical Analysis, Physics, Geography, Art History and Musical Technology.

On Tuesday 22 September, exams will begin at 9 a.m. with Catalan Language and Literature, followed by Foreign Language, and in the afternoon, Design, Business Economics, Electrotechnics, Catalan Literature and Chemistry.

On Friday 25 September, exams will focus on History, Artistic Drawing, Latin and Mathematics. In the afternoon, students will take the exams in Biology, Audiovisual culture, Technical Drawing, History of Philosophy and Spanish Literature.

COVID measures

The maximum of safety measures will be maintained during all exams in order to prevent the risk of COVID-19 infection.

Exam results

Most students in Catalonia, 2,319 (55%), sign up for the general phase exams and for some of the specific phase exams, while 1,921 will only take the specific phase exams (1,437 are upper secondary school students and 484 come from upper vocational training courses). Of the 2,319, 80% are students taking the entrance exams (PAU) for the first time and 20% are re-examining with the aim of obtaining a higher score.
