Conference on Open Access and Data Management

Last 20th September, the conference hall of the Rectorat building held the session “Open Data / Open Access policies: Implications in research” addressed to researchers and managers of EU projects.

Given the increasing importance of Open Access and Open Data in research, fostered by the requirements of the H2020 European programme, the UAB organised a conference to review the European policies on these issues.

The event was opened by the Vice-rector for Innovation and Strategic Projects, Javier Lafuente, and counted on the participation of Jordi Hernández (Rector's Commissioner for ICT), Agustí Verde (Data Protection Officer) and Xavier Rubiralta (IT Responsible for Data Protection), who presented the UAB Data Protection Office and the Open Science policy.


The head of the Unit for Open Access, Repositories and Journals at FECYT and National Open Access Help Desk in Spain, Pilar Rico, also participated as a guest speaker. Her speech was focused on the Open Access Policies to publications and research data. She also contributed actively in the interesting discussion revolved around this matter.
