The workshop took place on Wednesday 19 September and aimed to analyse the current situation of gender issues and any measures which can be taken institutionally and by
researchers at the ICTA-UAB. To do so, experts from the UAB and the UAB Observatory for Equality, as well as members of different research groups at the ICTA-UAB came together to share their experiences in this field.

The workshop began will a welcoming speech by ICTA-UAB Scientific Director Dr Patrizia Ziveri. Following, researchers Dr Beatriz Rodriguez-Labajos and Dr Esther Sanyé Mengual presented their study on “Evaluating gender equality at ICTA-UAB (2003-2015)”. The workshop continued with the presentation on UAB gender policies and their impact: “Les polítiques de gènere a la UAB: impacte en la docència i la recerca” by Dr Joana Gallego Ayala, Director of the UAB Observatory for Equality. Both presentations offered an image of the current state of gender issues at the UAB.

The interventions of members of the ICTA-UAB Dr Victoria Reyes-García, Dr Isabelle Anguelovski, Dr Eric Galbraith, Dr Maddalena Ripa, Laura Simón, Camila Rolando and Mireia Ercilla allowed visualising the reality experienced by different groups of research.

After a group activity to come up with an improvement plan for gender issues within the day-to-day context of scientific excellence and the management of talent, the workshop conclusions were detailed by Dr Sara Moreno, Vice Rector for Students and Employability, and by Director of the ICTA-UAB Xavier Gabarrell.
