The UAB's graduate diploma in Communication and Political Leadership has been nominated to the Napolitan Victory Awards under the category of political education of the year. The awards ceremony will take place on 6 April at the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C.

The graduate diploma, directed by professors Tomás Peire Fernández and José Manuel Pérez Tornero, was first offered in 2007 under the conviction that leadership skills in politics were intimately related to communication capacities. Thus, students are provided with training focused on leadership and communication skills needed for political interventions, oriented towards decision-making processes in a variety of complex aspects, as well as in the management of organisation strategies.

Napolitan Victory Awards

The "Napolitans", as they are called since 2017 in honour of Joseph Napolitan, father of modern political consultancy, are a pioneering set of awards conferred onto professionals of politics in Spanish-speaking countries. They are also the first each year to give recognition to the most influential women in politics, as well as the young people, leaders, candidates and politics fighting for freedom and democracy.

The Washington Academy of Political Arts & Sciences (WAPAS) is in charge of presenting these awards, considered to be the Oscar Awards of politics by the international press.
