The season of self-produced premieres by the UAB's stable groups and artistic workshops begins this April. Unlike in other years, these premieres will take place virtually due to the restrictions of the pandemic and will be recorded with the UAB Campus Media team. The first premiere to be held is the play by the UAB Stable Theater Group, which will be held in the Sala Teatre UAB without an audience and will be broadcast online through YouTube. The rest of the shows are still pending confirmation regarding the possibility of the public being present.

The theater play of the Stable Theater Group, directed by Ricard Gázquez, will take place at the end of April and will be the representation of “Party Time”, by the playwright Harold Pinter. The play originally premiered in 1991 and tells the story of a group of influential people from London's high society who throw a party at a select club. The workshop "Theatrical Interpretation: from the rehearsal room to stage", directed by Arnau Vidal, will premiere in May the play "The Journey", by Eric Lane, which shows the journey of maturity of three girls in the form of an American road movie. Regardless, the Theater Workshop for people over 50, directed by Marta Sorribas, will premiere in June a theatrical adaptation by Joan Yago of the classic novel "The Canterville Ghost", by Oscar Wilde. The play will be set in the 1950s and will give an alternative vision to Wilde's original text.

Regarding the Dance Classroom, in May the choreography of the Contemporary Dance Workshop (intermediate level) will take place, which this year has been titled “Between Us”. The show is directed by Laia Santanach and seeks to show the contrasts between individuality and the group. This new dance proposal aims to put on the table the figure of the group as a gear to catch air, a gear that creates a trail where we can see the mirror between us.

In addition, the Music Classroom prepares the UAB Spring Concert as every year. This concert by the Choir and Chamber Choir, conducted by Poire Vallvé, and the Orchestra, conducted by Jesús Badia, will take place in June. The former will play a varied repertoire ranging from jazz pieces by authors such as Bob Chilcott to compositions by Cristòfor Taltabull. The Orchestra will pay tribute to Astor Piazzolla as well as the interpretation of a piece by Gabriel Fauré. Both groups will perform together Ave Maria by Johannes Brahms.

The Cultura En Viu team will inform about the news, specific premiere dates and format of the shows through social networks. For more information, do not hesitate to contact the mail cultura.enviu@uab.cat.
