The UAB Exhibition Hall will host the new exhibition “Espai B5-125: A conceptual space from the margins” from June 7th. The exhibition will review the first ten years of history of one of the most emblematic exhibition spaces of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. It is an exhibition curated by the students of the Master in Analysis and Management of Artistic Heritage (specifically from the Criticism, Curation and Dissemination of Art module) and will be available until July 28 and from September 6 to 30.

The Espai B5-125 was created in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities under the management and supervision of Professor Teresa Camps in 1978. The place was originally conceived as an alternative space for conceptual art within the UAB with the aim of refreshing the local artistic paradigm of the moment. This new exhibition "A conceptual space from the margins" is immersed in the route of the room until 1988 and collects some of the conceptual works that were found within its walls in its beginnings.

This exhibition, coordinated by professor Jaume Vidal Oliveras, seeks to underline the alternative and countercultural nature of Espai B5-125 and to rescue some of the themes that were addressed both by the works exhibited in its room and the Catalan conceptual art scene of the 80s. These reflections include issues such as the limits of space, identity, memory, criticism of the consumer society and counter-institutional attitudes.

The new exhibition has all the recommended security measures and capacity. For more information or to resolve any doubts, do not hesitate to consult the Cultura en Viu team by email at cultura.enviu@uab.cat.
