16/05/2019

Along with the end of this academic year comes summer, and with it, plenty of on-campus activities with academic recognition. Besides enjoying university during the studying period, you can also take part in our summer activities! Applications for all activities will be open from 15 May up until 16 June 2019. Each activity will be recognized with 1 ECTS credit.

If you wish to get to know university from within, the Student Representation Workshop (from 8 to 11 July 2019) will allow you to maintain a first contact with the student and supra-university representation bodies, meet the figure of the “student representative”, know what guidelines affect students and participation and also to get to know other ways of participation in UAB. If you want to sign up for this workshop, you just have to fill in the following application form.

The Dinamització Comunitària Unit is also offering a Mediation Workshop (from 15 to 18 July 2019). Participants will learn how to tackle daily conflicts from a restorative perspective. This workshop aims to be an introduction of notions linked to mediation and restorative practices that will provide tools to solve conflicts. The workshop will be carried out through case studies within the context of involvement in UAB. You can sign up by filling in this form.

Would you like to get to know the structure of the Parlament, how our parliamentary system works or the tasks performed there? You have the chance to see all this from 13 to 10 July with the University Parliament Week (SPUNI). Simulations of parliamentary activity will be carried out during this week with representatives from the Parlament de Catalunya and from other political and institutional Catalan fields, all supervised by university professors. You can sign up by filling in this form and get 2 ECTS credits.

The workshop Mental Health and TV shows: treatment and stigma! is back this summer. This activity was new last year in the context of the FMUAB17’s slogan: “Mental Health, visible and stigma-free in UAB”. The aim of this workshop is to raise awareness on mental health stigmas through the analysis of cultural products. Each session will focus on a topic related to mental health, such as autism, ADHD, drug addiction, depression, schizophrenia, psychopathy, etc. This workshop is worth 2 ECTS credits.

If you are a local student enrolled in the 2019/2020 academic year in UAB and you wish to meet international students and practice languages during summer (from end of June to beginning of August), the Buddy Programme is the best option. The figure of the buddy is aimed to favor, through participation and dynamization, interaction between local and international students taking part in the UAB Barcelona Summer School 2019. If you wish to become a buddy, you can fill in this form. You can sign up until 9 June.

Registrations to take part in the Mentor programme in the upcoming academic year 2019-2020 are now open. This programme aims to ease international students’ stay in UAB whilst local students offer their support to their international mentees. If you wish to interact with international students while also practicing languages, do not hesitate to join by filling in this form. This activity is worth 2 ECTS credits if done for a semester, and 3 ECTS credits if extended for two semesters.

You can find more information about these activities in the Participació Estudiantil website. If you have any doubt do not hesitate to contact us through the following e-mail address: info.participacio@uab.cat
