Campus activities on 19 February

On 19 February, several activities will take place around campus. This initiative begins this year and aims to stop all academic activities from 1 to 3 p.m., once a month, to allow students to enjoy special activities organised by the centres.

Starting this 2018/19 academic year, the UAB seeks to foster student participation in activities taking place around the campus. For this, eight days have been set aside in which all academic activities will stop from 1 to 3 p.m. so that students can participate. Several faculties have organised activities for Tuesday 19 February.

Masterclass: "La Marató" de TV3

How did La Marató become one of the most important promoters of research in Catalonia? How are the projects that receive funding chosen? How is such a large solidarity project as this one organised? At 1 p.m. at the Faculty of Biosciences, this and many other topics will be covered at the masterclass of TV3's La Marató. Conducted by journalist Roger Escapa, director and presenter of radio show El suplement at Catalunya Ràdio and presenter of last year's La Marató programme for Catalunya Ràdio.

Presentation of the online series 'Patates rosses'

The online series Patates Rosses, which TV3 will begin to emit online through "TV3 a la carta" and YouTube next week, was created by two students from the UAB bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication. The series will premiere at 1 p.m. at the Faculty of Communication Studies. The comedy series offers a novel format aimed at young audiences and designed to be watched on mobile phones. Some of the chapters will be viewed and a debate will be offered by the two creators, David Villarreal and Joan Saranova.

Genealogy of Women

At 11:30 a.m., the Lecture Room 501 of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities will offer an event entitled "Genealogy of Women", aimed at bringing the university community closer to research by and about women. The event will begin with a debate on memoirs and archives on women, followed by a conference entitled "Investir investigant. Una trajectòria de recerca feminista"[Investing by Investigating. A History of Feminist Research], offered by Isabel Segura, former director of the Action and Development Plan of Women Policies, Catalan Institute for Women.

Jobs Week 2019

The Faculty of Business and Economics organises at the Bellaterra and Sabadell campuses the "Jobs Week 2019", which will begin on 19 February. The objective of this week is to offer students in their last year of their bachelor's degree or master's degree, as well as alumni, several tips to help them enter the labour market. The UAB Employment Service will be offering training sessions on 19 and 20 February at 2 p.m. Presentations of businesses and institutions will be held on 26 and 27 February.

Workshop on courses and public examinations in international organisms

The auditorium (Sala d'Actes) of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology will host at 1 p.m. a workshop on the new edition of the "Preparatory Course for Public Examinations Held by the European Union and International Organisms", which will take place in the month of March. Students interested in a professional future in institutions of the European Union or others international organisms can learn about how to participate in the public examinations taking place.

Up until now, activities on campus have taken place on 15 October, 8 November, 12 December and 16 January. The next activities on campus will take place on 19 March, 11 April and 17 May.
