Call for European Parliament journalism grants for university graduates

Becaris al Parlament Europeu
30 November is the last day to submit applications for the general option or journalism option of the Robert Schuman scholarships, beginning on 1 March 2019 and lasting five months. Applicants must hold a university degree before the call deadline.

12/11/2018

Twice a year, the European Parliament opens a call for traineeships for university graduates, in general option and journalism option. The Schuman Scholarships enable trainees to supplement the knowledge which they acquired during their studies and familiarise themselves with the activities of the European Union and, in particular, the European Parliament. It also allows trainees to become familiar with the tasks of a press office, come into contact with members of the European Parliament and closely follow current events.

A total of 124 scholarships are available for the period from 1 March to 31 July 2019. The call will be open from 30 October to 30 November. The length of the scholarship is five months, with the possibility of renewing, and the work can be either remunerated or non-remunerated. The scholarships currently include 1,313.37 euros per month for trainees in Brussels and Luxembourg. Trainees in Spain receive 1,164.96 euros per month, an amount which is updated each 1 January. The scholarship also includes a trip to Strasbourg to participate in administrative and information management tasks during a plenary session.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be nationals of a Member State of the European Union or an applicant country.
  • Be aged 18 or over on their traineeship starting date.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union.
  • Have not received another scholarship or contract lasting more than two consecutive months from the European Union.
  • In accordance with Article 22 of the admission regulations, applicants must be in possession of a university degree before the call deadline on 30 November 2018.
