Annual Meeting of Doctorates in Physics

Doctorat física
On the 20th and 21st of November, the Faculty of Sciences will host the Annual Doctoral Physics Meeting, in order to facilitate the relationship between those PhD students who carry out research on the field of physics at the UAB.

15/11/2019

TADeF-UAB 2019 (Annual Meeting of Doctorates in Physics) aims to become a conference for PhD-researchers in the field of physics-related research around the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where knowing the research of fellow doctorates will become a reality. The conference also intends to give answers to common doctoral questions, such as, for example, which are the mechanisms for starting to search for a stay abroad or our rights as workers.

The congress will be divided into four sections. The first one consists of a series of short talks carried out by the doctorates themselves. The second consists of a poster session. These two parts focus on helping to make PhD research visible. The third section promotes debates and answers to the most usual questions of the PhD. Finally, the assistants will enjoy the presentations of two invited talks carried out by researchers of great importance in the physics community: Teresa Puig, from the ICMAB, who will talk about “High Temperature Superconductors: Complex materials with novel physics opportunities”, and Jordi Prat, from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, who will give a talk about “Control magnetic fields while controlling your professional career”. and a talk by a physics disseminator.

TADeF 2019 will take place on 20th and 21st of November 2019 at the Faculty of Science of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Attendance is open to all, but registration is required if you wish to present a poster or give a talk. The deadline for registration and contribution proposals is the 28th of October 2019.
