Services at the UAB campus in August

The services available at the UAB will have different opening hours during the month of August. Health assistance services, the information point, libraries and study halls, the Graduate School, and the Physical Activity Service will remain open.

The FGC Barcelona-Vallès train line will be out of service until September. Alternative means of transport are offered for those needing to reach the UAB campus.

During the month of August, UAB campus services will have special opening hours and some will close for a short period.

The UAB security services will be working 24 hours a day, every day, and can be reached at 93 581 25 25. The health assistance services will be open Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (93 581 13 11). In case of an emergency outside these hours, please contact the campus security services.

The Information Service at the Plaça Cívica will be open in August, from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (93 581 11 11 informacio@uab.cat). The International Welcome Point will be open from 1 to 3 and from 23 to 31 August, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (93 581 22 10, international.welcome.point@uab.cat).

With regard to teaching centres, the Logistical Services and Information Point of each centre will have different timetables. The Logistical Services and Information Points of the Faculties of Science and Biosciences will be open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and at the Rectorat building from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays. With regard to correspondence between centres please consult minimum service procedures for envelopes and packages.

The Users Support of the Computer Services will be available from 30 July to 31 August, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (93 581 21 00, cas@uab.cat). The IT support units of each centre will also have different timetables.

The Graduate School will be open all month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mondays to Fridays (93 581 43 28, ep.automatricula@uab.cat). And the General Register Office, in the Rectorat building, will be open all of August from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (93 581 43 28, registre.general@uab.cat).

The Research Management Area will be open all month, Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (93 581 37 32, a.gestio.recerca@uab.cat).

The internal bus service will not be operative during August. Until September, there will be reduced services in the FGC Barcelona-Vallès train line due to the construction work being carried out at the Sabadell stations of Can Feu and Gràcia. Alternative means of transport are offered for those needing to reach the UAB campus. Works on the B-30 motorway will also affect access until 2 August. From 3 p.m to midnight, entrance to the campus from the B-30 motorway, direction Tarragona, will be closed. The exit from the UAB in direction Tarragona will be open until 6 p.m., and then all traffic will be redirected. For more information please check the UAB Mobility and transport website.

Another service that will be open all month is the Physical Activity Service (SAF), Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. With regards to cafés and restaurants, the only one open will be the Social Science cafeteria, Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Vila Universitària, the Hotel Campus restaurant will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight, Mondays to Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to midnight on weekends.

Libraries and Study Halls

All libraries on campus will be closed from 4 to 26 August. From 1 to 3 August, the Social Sciences Library, the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives and the Humanities Library will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. And from 27 to 31 August, all libraries will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (except for the European Documentation Centres, Journals Hall at Humanities, the General Map Library, the Hospital de Mar Health Park Library, Josep Laporte and the study hall at the Plaça Cívica, which will remain closed).

The study hall of the Social Sciences Library will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. from 1 to 3 August; from 4 to 26 August from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 27 to 31 August, from 7 a.m. to midnight.
